Concept FLYTE – levitating lamp

What you can come up with new with such a seemingly simple thing, like a light bulb. However, a group of engineers and enthusiasts still find something to surprise, making this a simple thing to work without wires and in addition to this – fly.

This may sound unrealistic, but there is a light bulb that can work up to 22 years,  receiving energy from the surrounding air. If that may seem small, the Flyte is a wireless light bulb that can fly … due to the magnetic field. To be precise, lamp hovers in the air over a small wooden base in which are embedded magnets.
So how does it work? The wooden base of the bulb is connected to a conventional power supply. Further, electric power is transferred wirelessly from the base to the lamp via inductive technology, already used in the wireless charger for smartphones. To make a light bulb levitate, need simply put lamp in the center of the base, after which it will fly in the air and begins to rotate.
In Flyte used LEDs with phenomenally low power consumption, so the service life of the light bulb is simply amazing. If use it for about six hours a day, will work the flying light neither more nor less – for 22 years. If you use it for 12 hours a day, the service life will be reduced to 11 years.
But that is not all. This invention has another opportunity to use – Flyte can be used as a wireless charger for mobile phones. You just need to put your smartphone on a wooden base, he began to charge.
